To explore patients’ views, we translated and adapted to the Swiss context the questionnaire used for many years in England. This questionnaire includes questions about what happened before the diagnosis, diagnostic tests, announcement of diagnosis, treatment decisions, care received at the hospital as outpatient and during hospitalization, care and support received at home, and follow-up care after treatment.
For SCAPE-2, questions about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer care were added.
For SCAPE-CH, a slightly shorter version of the questionnaire was used.
The questionnaires below are provided for information purposes and must not be used to participate in the survey.
The data collected with the questionnaire was coded (the name is replaced by a code), then deidentified (the names and codes are removed) at the end of the survey.
In the case of a scientific publication, it is not possible to attribute the data to a person; the participants‘ names will never appear on Internet or in a publication.
All persons involved in the surveys in any way are bound to confidentiality, including between physicians. We complied with all data protection guidelines. The surveys were carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Swiss law. The competent cantonal ethics commission has controlled and approved SCAPE-1, SCAPE-2 and SCAPE-CH.
The information sheet for SCAPE-CH, which explains why we are conducting this survey, how it will be carried out, data confidentiality (processing, protection) and the benefits and risks associated with the survey, can be found below in German, French or Italian.
